The Sky Bride and Other Tales Retold, is a collection of Naga folktales that is recreated to immerse children in the timeless. tales that has been passed down from the rich storytelling tradition of our forebears.
The eight illustrated stories in this book is filled with strong moral meanings, making it ideal for children to learn life values through folktales, and at the same time, help them discover a love of reading.
The Act of Kindness Society came up with the idea of this humble project in the hope of keeping our beautiful tales alive, while proceeds of the book will go to aid the various social and charity works undertaken by the society.
Tialila Kikon is a poet, writer and educator based in Dimapur, Nagaland. Her poems and stories have appeared in various anthologies and journals. Her first book of poems, Paper Cranes (2016) published by Cyberwit Publishers, Allahabad was selected to be kept in the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. The Sky Bride and Other Tales Retold is her first collection of folktales in collaboration with six young illustrators from Nagaland, through the initiative of the Act of Kindness Society.
